Welcome to this course which is a product of Explore Your Shore! and is funded by the Environmental Protection Agency.

Course Outline

This course is designed to enable beginners and those wishing to refresh their recording skills to identify and record common marine intertidal species found around the Irish coastline. The course will also train you in how to conduct Explore Your Shore! surveys focusing on beaches and rocky shores. 

The course consists of 6 Modules and you must successfully complete each module and the associated task to complete the course. On successful completion of this course you will be emailed a digital Marine Biodiversity Citizen Science course completion certificate and YOU will be a Citizen Scientist!

The Course Goals are:

Complete a Citizen Science training course with Explore Your Shore!

Complete 6 online training modules by reading the text and watching the videos

Complete the questions for each of the 6 modules

Complete the Mission for each module
